Capsicum annuum

Sweet, elegant large, long peppers create (agri)cultural bridges.

The diversity of our garden heritage has a long twisted past. In this case, it was a long and careful untangling that produced what we feel is a pepper with the potential to become an Heirloom of Tomorrow. Originally a hybrid called La Paris, when a CSA farmer found out it was being dropped, they embarked on the journey to save it. However, you can't save seeds from a hybrid... so it had to be untangled it like a knotted string of pearls. The result: something close to the hybrid La Paris, but in open-pollinated form. The seeds then travelled with the farm's interns until they settled at Phillies Bridge Farm who passed the seeds onto their local seed library.
